Jerk Baits
Most anglers have jerk baits in their tackle box but do not imply the
correct action to the bait when retrieved. These baits are designed to
be jerked back to the angler rather than with a straight retrieval. A
simple jerk of the rod tip will send the lure quickly to one direction.
The next jerk will imitate the same motion but in a slightly different
direction. This style of retrieve gives the lure the illusion of an
injured bait fish trying to flee. Always be prepared for a strike and
set the hook with authority. Hook ups using this technique are vicious!
